Mega qualifier and race course – day 3 Bigfoot MBC holiday

12/08/2009

Today 3 of the bigfooters tackled the top section of the Megavalanche trail (which can be accessed throughout July and August) while the other two hired some of our bikes and climbed the mythical Alpe d’Huez 21 road bends. We met in Alpe d’Huez at the main chairlift where the bike park is and a few of them did some of the drops and jumps. After lunch (and general fettling , brakes , broken rear mech hanger etc) we traversed a round the mountain and picked up the Megavalanche qualifier and then finally the bottom part of the Megavalanche race course (still with avalanche trophy taped out). We finished with a cross country ride back to our base in Bourg d’Oisans.

Day 2 of the bigfoot mtb club week saw us tumble down the side of Alpe d’Huez all the way back to Bourg d’Oisans with 2000m of vertical descent on our lift assisted day. The day included technical rocky singletrack,th epurpose built downhill run, 2 natural rocky singletrack switchback trails, 1 fast flowing singletrack trail and finally my favourite trail from Villard Reculas down to Bourg d’Oisans – a superfast switchback singletrack wooded trail.

BMX bandit in Melbourne

23/01/2009

Lucien a member of our summer team  is hanging out in Melbourne for the winter – and he has just sent us some pictures of his new BMX -

As Lucien says ” Don’t you just love it? Got it for $50, that’s £23! Ebay rules! Perfect for cruising the Melbourne streets, everything is completely seized and non of the bearings have any grease in them whatsoever, but hey, its got character! And it means I have a bike whilst dad still has to wait for his to be shipped across the ocean!

Apparantly he has already mastered the very dangerous “kerb hop” . Is there no stopping this man ? Experience this and other awsome trail moves with us at the Megavalanche , Mountain of Hell or singletrack weeks
